How to Ship Loose Cargo Load (LCL)
If you need to ship something that is over 100 pounds, you'll probably need to ship it by a truck in order for it to get where it needs to go. A loose cargo load (LCL) carrier collects freight from various shippers and consolidates that freight onto one trailer for transport.

Determine how much your freight weighs and record its size and dimensions.

  • Find an LCL freight carrier or broker in your area or contacts KJM Cargo Movers for fast transaction.
  • Get a rate. Most LCL carriers will have a freight rate quote application, where you can enter in information about your freight in order to get an approximate price.  Fill out this information and compare rates among several carriers.
  • Talk to the sales rep. Once you've received a rate, most LCL carriers will ask that you sign up for an account and a sales representative will contact you. If you don't want to sign up for an account, you can also contact a sales representative by phone.
  • Give this sales representative the information about your freight and the amount you were quoted on the rate quote application. Your rep. will take down your information and confirm the price to ship your freight.  If you have special needs such as a forklift for your freight, let your rep. know this in advance.
  • Once confirmed, you can book a date to ship your freight.
  • Prepare your freight according to your carriers' guidelines. Some carriers will require you to secure your freight on a pallet in advance.
  • Once prepared, your carrier will come to your location and pick up your freight for delivery.
  • While in transit, track your freight as it moves to its destination.

MOVING TIPS

Make a list
Any format is fine. You can write your list by hand or type it out on the computer and print it out. You can even create a digital list using the memo pad on your mobile phone or tablet. Whatever format you choose, make sure that you can read it easily. If you think of something else to bring, jot it down on the list. You can use this list for future reference. You may want to make a packing list about a week before the trip, double check it once a day, and then when it comes time to pack, only pack those items, nothing else.

Have plenty of supplies
The more man power you can have help you, the better. If you have to, to economize walking space, have some people go around back and bring things out of the basement, if possible.  And always, have your most competent people loading the truck, most probably get the right courier or trucking services with specialized in proper handling in terms of moving cargos.Ask those people that have been on trips for advice. They can probably give you hints on how you are going to do and how much the rate of your trucking or shipment, make sure that you have the complete details, such as the commodity dimension, weight, origin and destination and the clarificaton of your item or commodity what kind cargos you are going to move out sothat they can estimate the size of transport vehicle that can be use for your moving requirement.

Utilize wardrobe boxes
Cargos such as Furniture household products, commercial goods, raw material and etc. can avoid being damaged in the moving truck by saran wrapping them. When you put these items in a moving truck or any vehicle, they tend to get scratched by other objects. Saran wrapping them will help avoid getting scratched.

Strategize wardrobe box use
Use bubble wrap on breakable items such as glasses and plates. If possible, see if you can carry delicate items that break easily by hand. A moving truck, no matter how slow you go, poses as a threat to delicates. Wrapping them in newspaper only helps so much.

Color coordinate
Just remember to label your boxes clearly with the room they go into and what is inside them. Label them on the top and the sides. If there is something fragile in them, make sure to either get some 'fragile' tape or write big and boldly 'fragile'  on it.
